Disley WI

Founded in 2010, Disley WI has around 65 members. Meetings are normally held on the fourth Monday of the month at the Disley Community Centre, starting at 7.30pm. Visitors and new members welcome.

Activities

Disley WI is somewhere that enthusiastic and community spirited women can meet and socialise (over a glass of wine), learn new and traditional skills, champion local issues, support national Women's Institute campaigns, and generally have lots of fun. We currently have the following - Walking Group, Craft Group, Theatre Trips, Day trips to craft events, Activities e.g. go-karting and clay pigeon shooting, Meeting in the pub for drinks

Projects

Lunch and Supper Club
The lunch and supper clubs meet on the 2nd Tues in the month (alternates each month between lunch and supper)

Craft Club
The craft club meets regularly - you can bring along your own knitting, sewing, papercraft project or you can join other members in creating a Disley WI embroidered tablecloth

Film Club
The film club meets on the 1st Thursday of the month

Walking Group
The walking group meets every few weeks. Usually it meets in St Mary's Church car park and walks from there into the surrounding countryside. The length of the walk depends on who turns up on the day and the weather! Dogs are very welcome.

Disley Well Dressing
In 2012 the Disley Well Dressing weekend is 15/16/17 June. Disley WI is creating a small board for display at the well, and will also have a produce/craft stall in the village on Sat 16th June
