Hartford WI

Founded in 1943, Hartford WI has around 89 members. Meetings are normally held on the first Wednesday of the month at the Hartford Methodist Church Hall, Beach Road, starting at 7.30 pm. Visitors and new members welcome.

Our Speaker will be Mr George Hughes, his subject will be " The experience of a Private Investigator" The competition is "A Magnifying Glass".

4th April 2012
Our Speaker will be Mrs Gill Adlington, her subject is Painting for everyone. The competition is "H hand Decorated Egg".

2nd May 2012

Our Speaker will be Mrs Barbara Forster, Her Subject is "Dunham Massey" The competition is "A Small Item of Silver".

Our Speaker will be Mr Ron McLaverty, HIs subject is "The work of the Samaritans". Competition is "A Photo of Flowers"

5th September 2012
Our Speaker will be Mrs Kate Cawley, Her subject will be Crafts "Learning by My Mistakes". Competition is " A Favourite Joke".

3rd October 2012
Our Speaker will be Mrs Shelagh Johnston, her subject is "Amish People". Competition is "an old utensil/tool".

7th November 2012

Activities

We are a lively institute with 85members, who always welcome new members. Along with our monthly meetings we have smaller groups and activities to suit individual choice, at either weekly or monthly intervals. Beginners in the various activiteis are always welcome,to learn something new and discover hidden talents, in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Art club - for those who enjoy painting, or wish to learn. Bowls - during the spring and summer months. Bridge - beginners are always welcome. Craft - a wide variety of crafts and skills are explained and developed. Darts - building up to exciting competition within a group of institutes. Dinner club - meeting and chatting together over an evening meal in a pub restaurant. Gardening club - sharing a mutual interest, visiting gardens and discussing gardening in general. Music club- listening to cds of our personal choice, promoting lively discussion and interest in music. Scottish country club - learning and enjoying the dances.
