The Heatons Junior Institute

The Heatons WI are always looking for ways to make a difference to their members and also to recruit more members, so they have set up a Junior Institute in a local coffee bar, where children can have their own “Institute”, doing activities while mums chat over coffees.

Children have their own membership card for The Heatons Junior Institute, and get a stamp in it each month that they attend.

Recent activities have included badge making, plasticine designs and, just before Christmas, Christmas decorations. The children decorated a tree to be taken to the December WI meeting and also made several decorations to take home.

Word has spread around school and other mums are being begged to join the WI so children can go!
