The Cheshire ShowThe planning for the prestigious Cheshire Show takes place all year round, from decisions on the theme for the marquee to all the fabulous work members produce once that idea has been shared. All those on the Cheshire Show Committee work tirelessly when producing the Schedule and associated paperwork, inviting Judges, creating the interior "look" and being on stand-by to answer a myriad of questions. To experience our marquee as a blank canvas in the week before the Show takes place is quite daunting. To then see all the hard work of the helpers come to fruition on judging and show days is nothing short of spectacular. During the days the exhibition is open, our dedicated teams produce many a varied selection of wonderful refreshments, steward all the exhibits, design lots of really interesting WI public affairs information and about becoming a WI member, sell publications and give skilled demonstrations of craft. Not to mention all the "behind the scenes" work carried out by our terrific staff from WI House. Every year the standard of work increases and what a joy it is to hear WI members and visitors alike saying that the Cheshire Federation of WIs marquee is the best on the showground. All the extremely hard work has then been worth the effort. Everyone should be encouraged to visit the Cheshire Show to see and hear for themselves all the hustle, bustle and enthusiasm engendered by the eagerness of a lot of very committed ladies. Do volunteer and join in - we look forward to seeing you next year! Looking for inspiration? Check out a gallery of some exhibits from 2011: Her are some 2010 photos: And some from 2009:
